I attended this high school. If you're not part of the magnet program or take AP classes, for the most part the teachers are a joke. The sport program is decent, however there is favoritism. Security sucks. They have old ladies guarding the entrances and let all the people that look like parents in.

The school offers many oppurtunities for an individual to grow and find out what their passions are, it is very accepting of anyone's unique preferences, and the teachers will work with you to make sure you stay on track and graduate. It is a very well-known school with many benefits such as AP classes, extracurricular activities, and events that will really help anyone enjoy their time in high school. Overall I loved my experience here and I highly recomend it for those trying to further their education and career.

My favourite teacher was Mr. Jeffrey Lee Garcia.
Now I heard he is a librarian.
I was an extra in the movie Stand and Deliver.
That was our classroom they filmed in.
I miss my old friends but i don't think they remember me. Now I'm a linguistic professor.

Garfield is the best place to be at, it has good admin, awesome teachers especially from special Ed, this place I really love, this is better school. The movie stand and deliver is a great movie, I seen it but not all the movie, they have great pe teachers but they push you to do the best and do better in the future. And all the teachers push you to be the best in the future. I will visit this school. Often and whenever I have time to go visit my high school teachers. Want to go back in 2013?. The fun times with friends during lunch. When I was a senior about to graduate, like in May I was having senioritis tha was the best high school years of all.

I graduate in 2005 One of my best experiences was with the auto shop classes with Mr. Villarreal. I learned my basic automotive skills there with him and also learned how to start Metal Welding Skills.I moved out of East LA. in towards the middle of the United States now I’m trucking with a class a commercial drivers license. Thanks for all your support and your knowledge Mr. Villarreal.

I'm in school right now and let me tell you now all the high ratings come from nostalgia, not evidence or facts but happy times and memories. The school itself is fit to teach depending on which teacher and class you have but for the most part education is not on the top priority and evidence for this is they make the science classes every other day. one of the most important subjects in the world is pushed aside. AP classes can be difficult to fit in to schedules and most math classes are jokes. If this school would inspected by a health inspector it would receive a maximum score of a C by the state. My advice send your children to Stern mass or Francisco Bravo High School if you care about their safety or education. If you are going send them to this school send them to either the Magnet or the UPP SLCs and please don't watch Stand and Deliver and think that the school has changed because of Jaime Escalante it really hasn't

I go to Garfield HS the teacher suck. Just because all the student got good scores in a math test. The tacher made every one take the test again. DON'T NOT SEND YOUR KIDS HERE!

They have excellent Magnet programs. Students are great...They have new Administration building with classrooms. Auditorium is also new. Lots of excellent teachers.
