My wife has degrees in horticulture and landscape design, I'm into photography and videography, and we have a daughter and her family living in Las Vegas. Spring Preserve brought all of this together. The Botanical Garden is beautiful and there was plenty of color even in January. The two museums have fascinating exhibits. If you're in Vegas and want to do something away from the gambling and the infamous Strip, the Spring Preserve should top your list.

Fun place, educationald and fun for our kids. We have 3 kids, 8yr, 6yr, 2yr old and 3 adults. T

There was enough fun things to do and learn for all of us. A playground and interactive museums made it worth it. Plus a minor crowd when we went at 1pm.

FYI they close at 4pm...so 3 hrs is a decent amount of time to spend...

We visited during July which was hot that we did not tour most of the outside places. Lots of things to check out. Huge cactus to see and desert plants. Customer service is amazing. Do not forget to visit the cafe since they have the best fresh made smoothies. The tropical smoothie was amazing. The museum inside was informative. I would visit again in cooler weather to see more.

More than just a garden. My friends and I came right after the Day of the Dead and the grounds were tastefully decorated with elaborate holiday decorations. The butterfly garden has an incredible variety of species and is free with admission. There is also an old town recreated on the grounds and much more to see. Great for all ages.

I didn't take many pictures.
I was trying to hang with the family.
Names are on all the plants; English and Latin.
The walk is easy, there is lots of shade in different areas.
Just go to Springs Preserve, it's fabulous.
Get a season pass, it's cheaper.

Beautiful place! Prepare to walk a lot. But worth it. It's a charming walk to the butterfly ? zone. Get to the ? butterfly ? early at 10am. Long line if not. Very well maintained with cafe, bathrooms, all handicapped area, no parking fees.
Back to the gardens.
It has a train to the old west, with buildings to match. What more can I say. Museums, exhibits all
over, beautiful flowers on the walk to the butterfly garden.. Unique play. area about half way to the exhibit

This is a part of the Springs Preserve. Tickets... I think it depends on what days you go. There was no wait on a Monday for tickets. You do have to purchase in person for a military or NV resident discount (which is worth it, even if you have to wait). You could spend all day here. The botanical gardens are beautiful. Went to see the butterflies exhibit. Lots of spring desert flowers are in bloom right now.

Based on the reviews and pics, it was not what I was expecting. I've been to desert botanical gardens in Arizona that were much better. I took my 22 year-old daughter and the museum was quite frankly very boring. We stayed in there for a maximum of 15 to 20 minutes. The exhibits are quite honestly for a much younger crowd. There were a group of 3 to 5-year-olds, which were quite entertained by the flash flood simulation. I realize this is a desert climate, but I wasn't expecting the outdoor plant exhibits to be so sparse. A lot of the plants seemed outright dead. Very disappointing that the butterfly exhibit was closed. Just for reference I have been to desert botanical gardens in December in Arizona and the plant life was far more abundant.
